WAREHOUSE DEVELOPMENT CREATES TRAFFIC NIGHTMARES
- If the route 222 warehouse is built, it will add more than 5,000 small trucks and cars and nearly 2,000 tractor trailer trucks daily to route 222.
- Maxatawny township doesn’t need truck warehouse jobs: deka is hiring and these jobs will soon be automated.
- Trucks routinely cut through long lane, siegfriedale and 737 to get to i-78 or route 222. They are not allowed on these roads but state police don’t enforce it. Our neighborhoods will be overrun with trucks should this warehouse be constructed.
WAREHOUSE DEVELOPMENT THREATENS OUR WATER AND AIR
- This warehouse would take our 56,000 gallons of water per day from our local aquifer. This will threaten many who have septic systems.
- Air quality will suffer as the pollution from trucks will cause increasing health problems with asthma and similar conditions.
- We are not opposed to property rights, but these warehouses are the wrong fit for route 222 and our community.
WE CAN PRESERVE THE RURAL CHARACTER OF MAXATAWNY TOWNSHIP
- The warehouse project would wipe out Kemp historic burial ground. We should preserve our local history.
- We need township supervisors who represent the people who live here, not out-of-state development companies.
- Dr. dePlanque is a long-time resident who operated a veterinary practice for many years near Fleetwood.
